It has been demonstrated that various toxins produced by "killer"strains of ''S. cerevisiae'' can be used to inhibit most strains of diastatic strains of ''S. cerevisiae''. Certain strains of diastatic ''S. cerevisiae'' are sensitive to one or more of these toxins.
