''Zymomonas mobilis'' is a Gram negative, facultative anaerobic, non-sporulating, polarly-flagellated, rod-shaped bacterium. It is the only species found in the genus ''Zymomonas''. It has notable bioethanol-producing capabilities, which surpass yeast in some aspects.
